To kick-off our Give A Sh*t campaign, we are excited to sponsor our first charity, Get Your Guts in Gear, through October 31st, 2012! As always with our Give a Sh*t campaign, we will be donating 15% of purchases during the month of October towards this wonderful cause!
Get Your Guts in Gear (GYGIG) is an independent, national, not-for-profit organization that raises awareness of Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and ostomies through multi-day cycling events that benefit and support inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) organizations and patient advocacy groups. But it’s more than a Ride! GYGIG creates a supportive atmosphere that helps participants feel empowered, accomplished, and part of a greater community.
“Through these rides I’ve found an extended family. A supportive group of friends who are there for me year round. The love, laughs, and comradery keep me coming back year after year, and it’s great to have the opportunity to show Crohn’s Disease that it’s not in control of my life.”– Gary Beckman– rider and crew member on numerous Rides, and President of the volunteer Board of Directors.
GYGIG’s Rides are well supported by a crew of volunteers, helping along the way to ensure that people of various skill levels can have an amazing and rewarding experience. Crew members follow along the route in sweep vans, provide rest stops every 10-15 miles stocked with snacks and Gatorade, and much more. The stellar crew ensures that the cyclists ONLY have to worry about sitting on their bikes and pedaling.
Currently, Get Your Guts in Gear is hard at work finalizing their dates for 2013, which will be made public soon. The next Ride will be in New York in June, with more details posted on their website (ibdride.org) as soon as they are available. You can sign up for their e-mail newsletter to make sure you stay up to date on all of the latest information.
Join them as a rider or crew member in 2013 and find out for yourself why it’s more than a ride!
We would like to thank GYGIG for being our first charity in our Give A Sh*t (G.A.S.) campaign! If you know of a great charity that could benefit from our G.A.S. campaign, please let us know by signing up on our G.A.S. sign-up page. As always we are wishing you and yours an awestomy day!
